Build amazing careers from anywhere with a remote career platform for developers.

wefunder

Arc is a remote career platform that connects developers with remote opportunities, verifies technical skills to accelerate hiring, and provides community support. Originating from Codementor, Arc aims to make remote work more accessible by consolidating opportunities and guiding developers’ career growth. The platform aggregates more than 13,000 remote hiring companies and recommends those most likely to offer opportunities, helping developers focus their job search. The Arc community offers advice and peer support for those pursuing remote roles.

The company generates revenue through three marketplace streams. Codementor charges mentors a platform fee of 13%–22%. Arc Contract charges companies a fee of 25%–30% on top of the developer’s compensation. Arc Recruiting charges companies a placement fee of 15%–20% of the developer’s annual salary. Net revenue reached $940,000 in the first quarter of 2021, and profitability has been achieved since March 2020.

Arc evolved into a profitable business with a $3.8 million per year net revenue run rate, with the remote recruiting segment growing 470% in 2020. The organization operates with a globally distributed team of 47 people across 11 countries and four continents. The Codementor network includes more than 900,000 developers and 26,000 vetted mentors, having connected over 110,000 pairs for mentorship sessions across 205 countries. Arc launched Arc 2.0 in mid-2021 as a community-driven remote career platform.

The company’s investor base includes Techstars, 500 Startups, WI Harper, FG Angel, and notable angels, with involvement from Y Combinator. Arc’s stated objective is to broaden access to remote opportunities for developers worldwide and to support the growth of remote work as a mainstream model.
